Discussing Design Event at Esquire ME at Insersect by Lexus

Oh boy!

I am very sorry for not able to post the events I have been to this week! I have a full time job and it's taking over my life! 

I was lucky to join the Esquire ME's event sponsored by Absolute Elyx with 3 extraordinary bartenders mixing those very authentic cocktails to the attendees!

I briefly met Cyril that night. I always wanted to know and meet the person behind the Design Days Dubai. 

Adrian from Monsieur Fox who I met last year at one of his events. I receive his newsletters and bought a few pocket squares from him. You really should check his website if you're a pocket square addict too!

I am afraid I dont know Maximilian but I checked his website! There is a reason some of his watches called Legacy machines. In my opinion, watches are men's only jewelry they can wear! From his story, I can tell that I risked everything when he first started his own business to became who he is!

Dubai World Cup 2016

It was the time of the year for people dressed at their best  where men don't wear boring navy blue suits and ladies don't complain too much about their masochist shoes and look chic than any other night outs!

After going to the races 4 times and finally settling my own style, I decided to put my name on competition for best dressed man and best dressed couple. I am strongly doubted that judges didn't do any clear selection to best dressed men whom represents contemporary English gentleman look! I really want to interview one of the judges to ask their education, who his/her inspiration and his/her influence of the moment. I really would't count that TV representative vote as she has her own personal stylist... She's basically like a child! Someone tells her what to wear.. You will read my interview in here soon.

Anywho! I couln't win anythign that day other than another great event in Dubai with a great group of friends. Hope you enjoyed as much as I did!

I would love to attend Kentucky Derby one day!!

Yacht Club in Marina

I have been living in Marina for years. Yacht Club was and still is my local bar until Pier 7 opened. It used to be "the spot" for beautiful people like us to go out on thursday night!

Well, things changed! Now, yacht club has MASSIVE balcony furniture where you can't even mingle! As much as we love to talk to someone at the bar when we are in europe, in dubai everyone seems to hate or look down to person who tries to one another! Maybe I am wrong but that's how i feel or see!

Even the crowd changed after those gigantic furniture were replaced instead of high tables...

I tried to take a pic but I don't think it's doing any justice!

I still like going there though. They used to have gentelmen's night on wednesdays but now they have this bad presecco deal for 100 aed instead. Cheap drinks ALWAYS give me headache!!!!

Dinning at RefleTTs

I finally made it to Reflets after 3 years of promising myself and not doing it! Hashtag Procrastinator!!! I want to write this post on friday but it has been another those busy weekends that I didn't rest at all!

Back to the restaurant! I was over the moon after leaving the restaurant. Every single dish is an experiment there. Combining simple things no one has thought of before makes the chef very experimental! I loved the idea of having 4 different menus every year based on season.

Ambiance: Yes, it was very romantic when I went on Thursday night! there were 3 couples dining that night! It felt so romantic that I was expecting someone would pop the question to his girlfriend!

Decor: I loved those Baccarat chandeliers... I am not so keen about floor to ceiling mirrors in the bathroom! I want to at least of light when I am doing my business there!

Service: Every single staff knows what they were doing. They're so synchronized. It felt like a show not a serving!

Wine: I had that Matesse wine was offered by Sommelier! It was worth every penny i spent!

Overall: LOVED IT!

Splash Fashion Show SS 16

I don't know how I do it but I was out last night again. This time it was for Splash Fashion Show Spring Summer Collection 2016. Since Splash team are doing their own shows (for those who doesn't know Brag used to do all the Splash fashion shows), it's been gradually getting better! Those guys know how to throw a party!

I must admit that I am not sure all the clothes are from Splash itself. I have seen their store.... I asked myself second question when some models on the runway wearing Louboutin shoes! "Are those CL or Splash version of them?!?"

Habtoor City Residence Launch Event at St. Regis

I was so impressed from the layouts of the residences Habtoor is offering! In case you wonder, there aren't studios. 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedroom options for Al Habtoor City Residence. I have been living long enough to start considering buying my own apartment. Event followed by the chairman's speech and how the city going to look like after. I am not property sales consultant but I think it's a clever investment for those who wants to move to the center of the city!

I think some marketing people should choose people they're inviting wisely! There were influencers like me, investors like some of my friends and the rest of people who are envelope openers! I call them event-hos!

Off topic, I ran into a friend of mine who works for Al Habtoor last night. She gave me a few details of the project which I find it more confidential! ;)

Sothey's Event for 20th Century Art/Middle East & Alchemy: Objects of Desire

I attended Harper Bazaar's event last Monday for celebration the contemprary art in Dubai. I believe it was  the part of Dubai Art Week event series took hold in DIFC. There were some the best their work of regional artists like Monir Farmanfarmaian, Farhad Moshiri and Shakir Hassan Al-Said. You can check their work at Sotheby's auction section.

and of course there was a Beyonce of the cars Rolls Royce at the terrace of the event! I don't have to write anything about it because picture will speak for itself.

Charlie Swimwear

I can't stop myself from writing! I am sure there is someone, somewhere reading these and taking notes. At least I want to believe like that! ;)

Well, my previous post was about going to bootcamp classes in Marina. Here comes another need! swimwear in Dubai! Don't you think VS, Seafolly/Seamolly, H&M other brands make you look common? It's unfortunate that there are no mid range swimwear you can find unless you wait for sales to buy OVERPRICED brands!

I personally recommend you to look at charliebymz swimwear collection! First check the sale items and then check 2016 collection. If you sign up for newsletter, you get notifications for mid season sale stuff!

Bootcamps in Marina

Do you feel unmotivated after work? Do you live in Marina? Do you spend more time messaging friends than exercising at the gym? If your answers are yes to all, you should join me to bootcamp classes on sunday and monday nights at 7:30! Oh, this isn't any bootcamp classes you have heard of or advertised!

BTW, I will NOT recommend you anything I don't do or see! The Personal trainer Matt Glass is one of the best trainers I have been trained with. I sometimes feel like I am training for Krav Maga (it's notorious defense technique)...

Summer time in Europe is approaching! If you don't want to hide on your clothes or sit at the end of beach clubs, make a move very soon!

Oh, I have to say this but I have one ab and am the one person who whines every time goes to classes! I feel great after the class and it motivates me to eat healthy food!

Luncheon at Armani Deli

After visiting Picasso and Miro Exhibition, I decided to go for lunch at Armani Deli! I find the colors of the hotel interior very dull! beige, brown, artificial silk....

Anyways, the waiter first handed the a la carte menu. Then he handed a smaller menu for set up menu and 2 or 3 meal course menu option!

Well, I hadn't eaten much since I woke up that day so I went for 2 meal course option which is 140 AED. I ordered 2 main course from the selected menu. I am not going to discuss if you're vegetarian but if you don't eat fish, you're missing A LOT!!!

Waitrose used to sell squid ink fresh pasta may years ago! Now, I don't find it anywhere!

When I go to Dubai Mall, I usually eat at Social House or Markette. After discovering Armani Deli, I WILL NEVER go there again! I approximately pay the same amount when I order a starter and a main course at those restaurants in the mall. If you're willing to pay 140 AED for amazing food, don't bother eating in the mall unless you want to eat at food court. You're welcome for the tip!

Picasso and Miro Exhibition at The Annex, Burj Khalifa

So this weekend I visited the exhibition of the geniuses of their centuries Pablo Picasso and Joan Miro Exhibition at the Annex Building.

I saw some of Picasso's painting at Reina Sofia in Madrid (the biggest collection of all museums in Europe), Tate Modern in London and a few more in Barcelona. Also, visited Joan Miro Foundation museum in Barcelona.

I frankly didn't know both of the artists dedicated almost a decade of their lives to pottery and poetry. It was something nice to discover since I have read, seen their art.

My opinion on the exhibition is nice. It literally took me 20 minutes to see the paintings, sketches and pottery work on the collection. Does it worth to pay 125 aed to see it? Not so sure!! Back in Europe you pay € 18-20 to see hell a lot of artists in the permanent collection. If you're an art lover, I would see it is a definite must-see!

What else do you have to do on the weekend other than brunching and going to beach clubs? If your answer is unclear, book your tickets before it lasts!

Noir Opening at Kempinski Hotel, The Mall of Emirates

First of all, I sincerely apologise for putting this post way too late. I can hear my destructive inner voice saying all the things passing through your minds... I would like to thank Gabriela for having me on the list on November 4th. As you may know, Noir is the place if you want to feel you live in a vibrant city.. It's very avant-garde with its unique interior and massive chandelier from Preciosa Lighting... It's terrace feels like a sweet hide from all the buzz from the highway right in the front...

Do you have some guests in town more than 4-5 days and you're residing in Marina area, then you must take them there and click one of the boxes from your taking them out list

Delete Facebook and some other social app of your phone

I finally overcome my destructive inner voice to able write about this! Frankly, I have been microblogging on my phone with a few group chats but I think it's time to write here and get things done.

I am not sure if you're able to do it but I want you to delete your some of your social media apps of your phone. This will help you to read something more interesting than "Like" every freaking thing! Also please stop sharing UNILAD, Huffingpost, Buzzfeed, James-dubbie Cordon, Dailymash's fb page. I follow them too (eyeroll)! I want my friends to be multilateral not a unilateral boresomes!! I am not going to tell what websites you should follow. I don't want you to turn into me. Then whenever or if ever I meet you, I will have nothing to talk or discuss about.

I once told that I have the blatant attitude of Katie Hopkins... I don't know how to say things "politically correct". I will not lie to your safe (in this case your reflection from the laptop or phone) nor I will fluff the reality and sell it to you. I haven't got any sponsors therefor, everything you will read is going to be merely from the perspective of my experience!
